Saffron: Emerging Weight Loss Star

There are several aspects to weight loss that can be addressed by nutritional supplements, other aspects should be addressed by healthy eating and moderate exercise at least 3 times a week. Recently, much attention has been focused on Saffron, a spice that has been around for four thousand years. It has long been used in cooking, and used to be traded amongst nations. As an Extract, it has been shown to promote weight loss in several ways.

There is science behind all of the claims, and numerous studies to back the claims. Let's take a look at what Saffron Extract can maybe do for you. It is a great way to suppress your appetite, and reduce the carb cravings. People who have used this spice have reported that it gives them a feeling of €Fullness€ in a much quicker amount of time, and therefore they eat less.

Saffron increases Serotonin Levels in the brain, this €feel-good€ neurotransmitter modulates mood-swings, and thus eliminates emotional overeating. At the same time, it lowers €Cortisol€, the Stress Hormone, which is also responsible for adding fat around the belly. according to a small study published in Nutrition Research in 2010. For the study, 60 healthy, mildly overweight women took either a saffron-containing supplement or a placebo every day for eight weeks (during which the participants' intake of calories was unrestricted). Study results showed that members of the saffron group experienced a significantly greater decrease in snacking and a significantly greater reduction in body weight (compared to members of the placebo group). The study's authors note that saffron's supposedly mood-enhancing effects could contribute to the decrease in snacking frequency.

Saffron In Multi-Ingredient Formulas

Saffron is available as a single-ingredient dietary product. However, there are other formulas, such as Adjuvan7, that contain Saffron along with other weight loss ingredients. The question is whether this is helpful to the overall formula. When you take into consideration the qualities of this ingredient, and couple it with other similarly acting ingredients, such as: Garcinia Cambogia, Raspberry Ketones, Green Tea Extract, Forskolin, and Green Coffee Bean Extract, you have a very potent formula.

Such a formula presents a Synergistic Effect, whereas each ingredient is more potent in combination with the other ingredients than if used by itself. The other advantage of a multi-ingredient formula is that not all weight loss ingredients work for all people. Everybody has a different body chemistry, so it is silly to think that an ingre3dient will act the same for all people.

Instead of spending a fortune trying all of the varied weight loss ingredients on the market, it makes a lot more sense to try a multi-ingredient weight loss formula. This type of formula has success rates that far surpass those of single ingredient formulas. The caveat here is that you should seek physician approval before trying any of these weight loss ingredients. Some products contain herbs that are actually stimulants, and you can have heart palpitations if you are consuming cola drinks or coffee at the same time. So use caution.
